Go With the Flow Water and the Law of Attraction: What would water do?
by Vitaliy Geyman What do water and the Law of Attraction have in common? The answer lies in observing this amazing element in nature.
Water never flows upstream; working with the natural law of gravity, it always finds a path of least resistance. In the same way, the Law of Attraction teaches us to go with the flow. Many of us in small businesses are conditioned to think we have to work really hard for our living, that there is no free lunch. Yet, have you noticed that sometimes the harder you work, the more you drive yourself, and the less efficient you become? When you are driven to achieve something, you are often in a state of anxiety, lack, or fear. According to the Law of Attraction, if anxiety is what you’re putting out into the universe, then anxiety is what you will be attracting.
I had a client once who was what one may call a super achiever. He was highly educated and very intelligent. Every business venture he would go into, however, would end up in disaster. For years he could not figure out what was going on. On the surface he was a positive, enthusiastic person, but underneath he had a lot of fear—fear of failure and fear of success.
Drawing from the work I have done with many small-business owners and from my own experience, I recognize an amazing correlation between the emotional state of the business owners and the state of their businesses. Emotions work like a barometer for success. If a business owner is feeling frustrated or depressed, the business slows down and customers stop calling. If the owner changes his or her attitude—becoming hopeful, optimistic, and grateful—the flow of business picks up again. The key is to observe your feelings and thoughts and consciously choose thoughts that feel better.
As Dr. Masaru Emoto and other researchers have shared with us, thoughts and emotions change the crystalline structure of water. Positive thoughts produce beautiful crystal molecules, and negative thoughts distort the water molecules. Given that our body is 75% water, we are basically a large antenna attracting energies from all over the universe. Negative energy impulses, repeated over time, attract exactly what we fear most. When we maintain a positive attitude, we attract positive results. Try your own experiment Think of your business as test ground for the Law of Attraction. Notice what you’re thinking throughout the day and how it makes you feel. Observe what happens when you encounter an obstacle in your business. Do you keep resisting it, getting irritated, frustrated, or fearful, or do you find ways to flow around it, treating it as a natural part of the journey?
Stop and ask yourself this question: “As water, how would I respond to this situation?”Quiet the mind for a while and let the answer come from within.
If you still experience difficulties in your business, focus your attention on the aspects that are working well. For example, you may be grateful for the people you work with, the contribution you make to your clients, or the opportunity the business provides for your personal growth. Write these things down in a gratitude journal and look at it each day. After all, being grateful is the best way to attract abundance.
Just like water that flows freely, nourishing everything in its path, the Law of Attraction is a free energy that can nurture our personal power, helping us to become powerful creators along the path.
